Kuro Gives Back: Our Programme for Singapore's Rescue Cats
By Charlotte · Founder
I was chosen by my cat, Kuro, a young void off the streets who decided my doorway was home. So a programme for the cats nobody has chosen yet was never really a question of whether, only of how. Kuro Gives Back is our answer.
The mission
Rescue is quiet, unpaid, and relentless. The people who do it here in Singapore feed community cats before work, take the ones who need a warm room into their own homes, and drive to the vet on their own money at odd hours. When one of them needs to travel, or move house, or go into hospital, the cat in their care is the first thing that has nowhere to go.
Kuro Gives Back exists so that a good boarding option is not the thing that falls out of reach for those cats. We set aside space in our hotel, at a reduced rate, for verified rescue cats, so the standard of care does not drop just because a cat came from the street instead of a breeder.
How it works
We keep it simple.
- We hold two Loft suites for the programme, running from July to November 2026. Spots are limited and subject to availability.
- Verified rescue cats board in a Loft suite at 50% of the normal rate. Everything else about the stay is exactly what every guest gets: a private, air-conditioned suite, twice-daily cleaning, one-on-one play, and a 24/7 webcam the carer can log into themselves.
- If the allocated suites are full, we will always tell you honestly and help you plan around the dates.
Loft is one of our roomier suites, with multi-level platforms built into the structure for cats who like to climb and watch. You can see it on our suites page.
Who it's for
The programme is for cats adopted from a recognised animal welfare organisation or rescue group. To keep the places for the cats they are meant for, we verify each one. Just send us a photo or PDF of the original adoption agreement, clearly showing the cat's name and/or microchip number, the adopter's name, and the animal welfare organisation or group.
Once that checks out, your cat is welcome in the programme. If you are unsure what to send or whether your situation fits, just ask us and we will help. And if you would rather board at the full rate and leave a programme place for someone else, that is completely fine too. We never push.
How to enquire
If you care for a rescue cat and think Kuro could help, get in touch. Tell us a little about the cat and the dates you have in mind, and we will take it from there.
- Message us on WhatsApp at +65 8775 7025, or use our contact page.
- Places are subject to verification and the availability of the allocated Loft suites, so it is worth asking early rather than on the day.
There is no pressure and no obligation. The point of Kuro Gives Back is to make one thing easier for the people already doing the hard part.
