With over 20 years of experience in feline care, I have always believed that every cat is a unique work of art. My journey took its most meaningful turn when I was struck by the Cat Distribution System. I was chosen by my own cat, Kuro, who was just a young void on the streets back then. As he meowed his way into my heart, I vowed to provide him with a life of safety and comfort. This has ignited a lifelong passion of learning what sparks joy for cats and truly makes a mark in their lives. Afterall, it is their first time living too - they should enjoy all that life has to offer!
I founded Kuro Cat Hotel to bridge the gap between professional boarding and the deep, personal love of a home. This is our cat sanctuary, a place built lovingly on the principles of high-quality, ethical care. We treat your cats as our own, providing a calm and luxurious environment where their individuality is celebrated and their well-being is our highest priority.

What Does Fear Free Certified Mean for Your Cat?
Fear Free® is a science-based certification programme founded by Dr. Marty Becker that trains pet care professionals to recognise, prevent, and reduce fear, anxiety, and stress (FAS) in animals. At Kuro Cat Hotel, our team is Fear Free certified. Every interaction with your cat, from check-in to playtime to feeding, follows protocols specifically designed to protect their emotional wellbeing.
In practice, this shapes everything we do. Our carers are trained to read feline body language — subtle cues like ear position, pupil dilation, tail carriage, and posture — using the Fear Free FAS scale to assess each cat’s comfort level throughout their stay. If a cat shows signs of unease, we adjust immediately: slowing down, giving space, using Feliway pheromone diffusers, or simply offering quiet, hands-off companionship until they feel safe.
We never force contact. Every interaction at Kuro is cat-led. Shy cats are given time and patience with gentle desensitisation. Confident cats enjoy enrichment and interactive play on their terms. This approach is especially important in a boarding environment, where unfamiliar surroundings can trigger stress responses that go unnoticed at facilities without Fear Free training.
Our Fear Free commitment also extends to how we design our space.
