Boarding for cats 10+

Senior Cat Boarding in Singapore

An older cat doesn't need a noisier holiday. They need the same handler twice a day, a warmer suite, and someone who notices when the bowl is half-finished.

What changes when the cat turns 10

A senior cat hides decline well. Most don't slow down dramatically; they slow down quietly. A bowl that's half-finished, a litter visit that's a minute longer, a jump that turns into a step. The work of senior boarding is noticing those things, every day, and not waiting for them to show up as a vet bill.

We board cats ten and older every week. The setup is the same as our short-stay rooms in shape, but the pacing is different: a longer handover at check-in, fewer transitions across the day, and a handler who reads the cat first and asks questions second.

What we adjust for senior guests

Slower handover

We take 20–30 minutes at check-in instead of the usual 10. Where the cat hides at home, what voice cue brings them out, what foods they currently accept. The first night sets the rest of the stay.

Low-entry suite layout

Litter boxes with low sides. Step-up access to perches instead of jumps. Bedding on the floor as the default, with elevation as an option not a requirement.

Warmer rooms

Older cats lose heat faster. We keep senior suites a degree or two warmer than the standard rooms, with extra fleece bedding available. No drafts past the door.

Quieter neighbours

Where possible, senior guests are placed on a floor with calmer cats and lower foot traffic. We don't put a senior cat next to a vocal teenager booking.

Daily watch list

Appetite, water, litter, mobility, behaviour. Logged every day, not weekly. Two-day deviations get reported to you within hours.

Vet-adjacent care

Charlotte holds Fear Free Certified Professional status (publicly listed at directory.fearfree.com). It shapes how we handle touch, restraint, and stress from the start. Senior cats benefit from this most.

Most senior cats are on something

Many cats over ten are on at least one daily medication: thyroid, blood pressure, joint support, kidney maintenance. We administer oral and topical medication on schedule, with photo confirmation per dose, and handle subcutaneous fluids on the cadence your vet has set. Bring the schedule, the supplies, and the vet's contact. We turn the rest into a one-page med map.

Pricing

Senior boarding uses the same nightly suite rate as standard stays. Classic Suite from SGD 60/night. There's no "senior surcharge". Medication is priced per administration on top of the suite rate (oral or topical SGD 5/dose). What you're paying for, on top of a suite, is daily logging and a slower pace. We're transparent rather than rolled-up.

Kuro, founder Charlotte's cat

Why this matters to us

I'm Charlotte, the founder. Ten years with cats. Senior cats were the first guests I learned to read properly; they teach you to slow down, watch, and not narrate. My own cat Kuro is eight, and the way I'll treat him at twelve is the way we treat your senior now.

Senior boarding questions we hear

Is there an age above which you'd say no?

No fixed cap. We've boarded cats into their late teens. The decision is health-led, not age-led. If your cat is medically fragile, we'd rather have a 15-minute call with you (and ideally your vet) before booking, so we know whether our setup matches what they need.

My senior cat is anxious about new places. How do you handle the first night?

Slowly. New senior guests get a quiet first hour with the suite door closed and us out of the room. We come back to feed, sit, and read the cat. We don't force interaction. Most settle by the second day; the ones that don't usually need one specific change, and we tell you which one to make.

Can my vet send notes directly to you for the stay?

Yes. We accept written care plans straight from your vet by email, and we'll confirm the plan with you before check-in so there's no daylight between what your vet wrote and what we're doing. Your authority for any vet contact during the stay is recorded in writing too.

What if my senior cat declines significantly during a long stay?

We escalate fast. Two-day appetite drop, weight change above 5%, sudden litter changes: these are vet calls, not wait-and-sees. We can contact your vet and move to a central Singapore clinic without delay, on your written authority. You'd be told as we go.

Do you accept cats with dementia or significant cognitive decline?

Often, yes, with a longer handover so we understand the cat's specific patterns. Night vocalising, disorientation, pacing: these have specific routines that work. Tell us what you do at home, and we'll match it. If we don't think we're the right fit for your cat's stage, we'll say so directly.

Plan a stay for a senior cat

Send us your cat's age, current medications, and any vet notes you have. We'll come back with a written plan, not a generic confirmation.
