Renovation, HDB HIP works, fumigation, and a house move all look different on paper. From a cat's point of view they're the same event: their safe, predictable territory turns into a building site. Doors and gates get left open for workmen and materials, and a frightened cat bolts. Dust, drilling, and pest-control chemicals go on for hours, sometimes days.
It's not something a cat can opt out of the way a person can go to the office. We keep guests through renovations, HIP works, fumigation days, and house moves for exactly that reason: a private suite, away from the noise and the open front door, for as long as the works take.
HDB HIP works
HIP means wet work, strong smells, and contractors moving through the flat on a schedule you don't fully control. Cats board for the essential-works window, sometimes a few days, sometimes longer if your block runs behind schedule.
Private renovation
Full or partial renovations bring fine dust and debris into the air for the duration. A bathroom retile might mean a long weekend with us; a full flat renovation can mean several weeks.
Fumigation & pest control
Pest-control chemicals are harder on a cat's small airways than on ours, and a cat then ingests residue when it grooms. Even a single treatment day is a good reason to have your cat somewhere else entirely.
Moving house
Boxes, strangers carrying furniture, and an open front door for hours are exactly the conditions that make a cat bolt. Boarding through the move and settling your cat into the new place once the boxes are gone is often calmer for everyone.
Stacked carriers and shared rooms are fine for two nights. Weeks of renovation noise cost the cat more than that. Our shophouse is cat-only, three floors, with private suites that have natural light, a window view, and enough vertical space for a cat to climb instead of pace.
Once your cat is in a suite here, there's no open door for it to bolt through, no drill going off two rooms away, and no dust settling on its coat. The renovation stays at home; your cat doesn't have to be part of it.

24/7 air-conditioning and HEPA air purification in every suite, so your cat isn't breathing cement dust, paint fumes, or pest-control residue for the duration of the works.

Logged at every meal. A cat that's unsettled by the disruption at home often eats and settles better once it's away from the noise entirely.

Works overrun. We hold the booking and talk through an extension rather than asking you to collect a cat mid-renovation. Stays running past two weeks move onto our long-term boarding, with the same suite held throughout.
Renovation, fumigation, and moving-house stays are priced on the same rate card as any other stay: Classic Suite from SGD 60/night. Whether it's an overnight fumigation treatment or a multi-week HIP project, the same nightly rate applies, and we're transparent about that rather than quoting differently by phone.

Confining a cat to one sealed room can work for very short, light works if you can genuinely keep it quiet and dust-free, but HIP and full renovations rarely leave a room contractors never need.

Board for the full duration of the noisy or dusty works, not just the worst day. Contractors and HDB schedules slip; tell us as early as you can and we'll hold the suite. A few days' notice on an extension is comfortable, and we'd rather you ask early than guess.
