Cat Boarding for Singapore School Holidays
The December break and Chinese New Year are the weeks everyone travels. Settle your cat's suite when you book the flight, not after.
Why the same few weeks are the busy ones
Singapore travels on one calendar. The school terms set it, the year-end break runs from late November to the start of January, and Chinese New Year pulls a second wave a few weeks later. Families take leave in the same windows, so every cat in the country needs somewhere to be in the same windows too.
That is why the booking window matters more in these months than in any other. There is a fixed number of suites in the shophouse and each one holds one household, so the earlier you name your dates, the more of the rate card you get to choose from. Asking in October about December is comfortable. Asking in the last week is not.
When to book: 6 to 8 weeks before you fly
We plan our own calendar on the booking window rather than the travel date, and 6 to 8 weeks before a peak is where it starts. The same rule works for your cat. Read the full boarding terms →
December dates: sort them in October
The long break runs from late November to the start of January and carries the year's biggest travel wave: family trips, home leave, and the last of the annual leave being used up. It is also the longest stay most cats do all year, often two to three weeks. Six to eight weeks back from a late-November or December check-in puts you in October. If the flights are booked, your cat's dates can be booked.
Chinese New Year: sort it in December
CNY is the second peak and the harder one for a cat left at home. Even households that do not travel have relatives in and out, the front door open all evening, and lion dance drums downstairs. Plenty of owners board through the first few days instead. CNY moves each year, somewhere between late January and mid-February. Count back eight weeks from the reunion dinner and you land in December, before the year-end rush takes over your attention.
The mid-year holidays: sort them in April
June is four weeks of school holidays, and the longest window for a proper overseas trip. This is where multi-week stays cluster, and where booking early buys you the suite size you actually want. Six to eight weeks back from a June check-in puts you in April.
Short breaks: six weeks is comfortable, two is thin
The March and September breaks are short-notice trips: Bali, Bangkok, KL, a cruise. A four-night stay still lands in the same week as everyone else's four-night stay, so the booking window rule still applies. Send the dates as soon as your leave is approved. Those trips get decided late, and that is exactly why they get squeezed.
How a holiday stay works
One suite, start to finish
Your cat stays in the suite you booked from check-in to check-out. We do not move cats between rooms to rearrange the floor, however long the stay runs.
The same small team
One care team on rotation, so a three-week December stay is not a parade of new faces. We track appetite and litter use daily.
Photo updates while you travel
Real photo updates sent while you are away, so the first thing you check after landing is your cat. No stock images.
Air and quiet
24/7 air-conditioning and HEPA air purification in every suite, in a cat-only shophouse. No dogs, no shared rooms, no stacked carriers.
Two cats can share
Bonded cats from the same household share a suite: up to 2 cats in a Classic or Loft, up to 3 in a Sky Villa, up to 5 in a Premium Villa.
See it before you commit
Most owners booking a long holiday stay come by first. A free tour means check-in day is not the first time your cat sees the building.
Base rates during peak weeks
The published base suite rates do not rise for peak weeks. Listed suite prices are the standard nightly rates before eligible promotions.

Who is actually looking after them
I am Charlotte, the founder. Ten years with cats, and this whole place exists because of my own cat, Kuro. The December break and Chinese New Year are the weeks I plan hardest for, because a long stay in a busy month is exactly when a cat needs the same room, the same food and the same people every day. Come and see the space on an ordinary weekday, when it is running exactly as it will over the holidays.
About Charlotte and Kuro →School holiday and peak season questions
How far in advance should I book cat boarding for the school holidays?
Six to eight weeks before check-in is the rule we use ourselves for the December break, Chinese New Year and the June holidays. For the shorter March and September weeks, four to six weeks is comfortable. If your flights are booked, your cat's dates can be booked.
Is cat boarding more expensive during Chinese New Year or the December holidays?
The published base suite rates do not rise for peak weeks. Eligible promotions and their blackout dates may affect the final price.
What happens if my travel dates change after I book?
Tell us as early as you can. Changes to a booking are free up to 48 hours before check-in. Peak-season dates are non-refundable unless we can rebook, so early notice is worth more in December than in any other month. Welcome-promotion bookings and agreed long-stay specials are non-cancellable and non-refundable. Other bookings follow the standard boarding terms.
Should I board my cat over Chinese New Year if I am not travelling?
Plenty of owners do. If your cat spends every CNY under the bed, a quiet suite is kinder than the spare room.
How long can my cat stay over the school holidays?
Send us your dates so we can check availability for the full stay. Save 10% on stays of 15 nights or more, or 20% on stays of 30 nights or more. For more than 30 nights, you can also contact us to discuss a long-stay special.
Name your holiday dates
Send us the check-in and check-out you are planning for the school holidays or Chinese New Year and we will come back to you. Naming them eight weeks out is a good deal easier than naming them in December.
